Blendmasters DJ Service, Highlights
This past year 2016 has been a very good year for BlendMasters Deejay Services LLC. I was looking to expand my business last year and was pleasantly surprised at the number of clients that were referred to me. I had received business from Thumbtack, Facebook, the BlendMasters website, and word of mouth. The deejay business has become very competitive so I have been looking for different ways to separate myself and my business from others. I believe I bring a different element and combination of personality, music knowledge and experience that most deejays can’t match. I decided to start this blog to show and share with potential clients what separates my company BlendMasters LLC from others.
My first gig of the year was in January for Zach and Lorena. The first half of 2016 was very difficult for me because I was dealing with a herniated disc in my lower back that required surgery in February. On top of suffering from a back problem, Virginia was hit with a major snow storm the same weekend as Zach and Lorena’s wedding! I met with them a month before to answer any questions they may have had and to make them feel comfortable with me. Lorena was from Brazil and had requested Brazilian songs for the reception, which I was able to provide with no problems. They also sent me voice recordings on how to pronounce some of the wedding party names–which was a big help.
Here Comes The Snow
We never expected there to be a blizzard on their special day. I thought for sure that they were going to cancel the wedding. Fortunately, I gave Zach a call a couple of days before to see if they had a backup plan because of the snow. Much to my surprise he said the wedding was still a go!!! I asked Zach if it was possible to set up a day early and he said someone would be there to let me in. Luckily, I have a 4 wheel drive vehicle that got me to their wedding venue safely. Their wedding and reception took place at the historic Bolling Haxall House in downtown Richmond.
The space was beautiful! They had the wedding in the first part of the building in which I set up a speaker for light music. They had the reception in the ballroom space. I played light jazz while dinner was served and as soon as dinner was done, they were ready to party! I played music from all genres, and the more I talked, the more they partied!
A Little Bit Softer Now
When I played the song “Shout” the groomsmen lifted Zach and Lorena above their head and carried them around the room. I recorded it. When it was all done they said they really enjoyed themselves.
There was only one problem–It kept snowing the whole time we were there! Everyone helped us pack up and luckily I had a shovel in my SUV. Everyone there pitched in to help dig out a couple of their family members cars. By this time, we all felt like one big happy family despite the 22 inches of snow that had fallen to the ground. This wedding is one that I will never forget! Zach and Lorena were very pleased and left a great review of my services. Here it is:
